Sunday 12th March 2006.

1st Match

1st Half

Broadwalk kicked off and chose to shoot from the spot and gave Fry’s Keeper Charlie Goodwin an early scare and his first touch of the ball with a safe catch from a powerful shot.

The early morning snowy conditions made things difficult in the first half and both teams found it hard to get the ball under control.

Fry’s applied the pressure for the first ten minutes with some excellent passing that quickly created some goal scoring chances.

Broadwalk won a corner that came to nothing from the initial cross but Fry’s failure to clear the ball gave Broadwalk the chance to take the lead with a goalmouth scramble,1-0.

Fry’s replied with a good run from Jack Dancey who created a chance to shoot with a neat one-two pass with Mickey Parsons but was kept out by the Broadwalk defence.

The home side came back at Fry’s and forced several good saves from Charlie who did well to keep the score down.

Kyle then came back strong for Fry’s and had several chances denied by the Broadwalk keeper.

With 5 minutes until the end of the first half Perry May beat his marker on the left wing to get a shot at goal that was deflected into the net by a Broadwalk player to level the score, 1-1.

With Fry’s now full of confidence the Broadwalk keeper had to work hard to stop the visitors getting another goal.

2nd Half

Fry’s kicked off and Kyle went for goal but was off target with his shot.

Fry’s start off strong, putting pressure on Broadwalk and putting some good passes together.

A good pass from defender Jonathan Shorland to Kyle from a BW corner created a shooting chance for Kyle who rattled the crossbar with his shot to keep the score level.

Another shot from Perry forced a good save from the home keeper.

Kyle, Mickey and Mathew Holloway all came close for Fry’s with a goalmouth scramble almost resulting in a goal for Fry’s.

Perry and Kyle were substituted for Mathew and Lee Heath whose fresh legs put some zip in the Fry’s midfield.

Joel Rowbottom came up from defence to create a shooting chance that came to nothing.

Broadwalk then won a free kick just inside the Fry’s half. The shot hit the crossbar with the ball rebounding back onto the keepers legs and into the net for 2-1.

With Kyle Morris back on and Fry’s now chasing the game Mickey shot from a free kick put didn’t trouble the Broadwalk keeper with the defensive wall doing it’s job.

An excellent corner forced a good save from keeper Aaron.Fry’s replied by also winning a corner that was saved well by the home keeper.

Broadwalk raised their game with some hard tackles going in and the home side were beginning to show who wants to win the most. They were first to the ball on most occasions.

With Broadwalk still hungry to win they were only stopped in defence with strong tackles from defenders Corey Reid and Ben Watt.

Fry’s now taking charge of the game with some nifty footwork from Jordan Finch. Midfielder Jordan managed to thread a neat ball through to Benn Clapp who quickly got a shot at target but was unable to trouble the home keeper.

2nd Half

With the pressure still on Fry’s to at least get an equaliser Broadwalk were growing in confidence and began to show their strength. They seemed to find an extra gear and battle through the Fry’s players with no answer from the visitors.

Fry’s were now forced to pull together. Ben Harper and Nathan put some hard challenges in to win the ball and work in midfield with Jordan and get the ball up to striker Ben Clapp.

They succeeded in this but Ben was shut down very fast by Broadwalk who were determined to hang on to the 2-1 win from the first game.

Fry’s unable to find a goal Broadwalk hung on to earn a hard fought 2-1 win.
